In progress...
Here is a photo of the car in primer. By this stage the car has been completely stripped down. We have repaired all the corrosion in the bodywork and removed all the dents. The car has been sand blasted and all of the rust has been treated and we are preparing the bodywork for painting.
The Finished Car...
The interior of the car was competely re-trimmed with a new headlining and new carpet. The seats and door cards were re-rurbished and re-covered in brown leather to closely match the original upholstery. The wood trims on the doors and dash were all in very good condition and just needed a professional clean and re-varnish to look their best.
All of the original chromework on the car was removed and sent to a specialist for re-chroming. I particularly liked the colour scheme of the car. The bodywork is a lovely dark blue with black wings. We took a sample of the original paintwork to our paint supplier who mixed the paint to exactly match the original colour. The car was painted in a "solid colour", not the "clear over base" paints used on modern cars which give a very high shine finish. The solid colour gives an authentic vintage finish.
